Abstract

Aim To evaluate results of TB control project with World Bank loan/England grant implemented in Chenzhou City,Hunan Province. Methods The report forms and relevant data of TB control project from 2002 to 2009 were collected and statistically analyzed. Results During the period of 2002~2009,100 072 suspected TB cases received clinical consultation, the average rate of medical diagnosis of suspected TB cases was 279.24/100,000,the rate of seeking medical care by suspected TB cases went up from 209.81/100 000 in 2002 to 315.93/100 000 in 2009.During the eight years,17,073 smear positive TB patients were found, and the average registration rate of smear positive TB patients was 47.64/100 000.There 13 665 smear positives were cured from 2002 to 2008,and the average cure rate of smear positive TB patients was 91.22%.The proportion of cases from referral in all the smear positive TB patients increased year by year, and the difference among 8 years was statistically significant(χ2=838.07,P0.01).Conclusion Through implementation of TB control project with Wolrd Bank loan/England grant in Chenzhou City, the goals of high case finding rate and high cure rate have been achieved, and the main targets attained.Bur attention be paid to the management of drug resistant TB patients.
