Abstract
It was investigated that the emulsion graft copolymerization of St/MMA onto starch was carried out by manganic pyrophophate as initiator and Sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate as emulsifier. The effects of conversion of grafted monomers ( X %), yield of grafting ( G %), and grafting efficiency ( E %) in this emulsion copolymerization were also investigated under different initiator concentrations, reaction temperatures and monomer concentrations.Experimental results showed that the maximum yield of grafting and grafting efficiency were 52.4% and 77.2% respectively.
