Abstract
The study on graft copolymerization of starch and vinyl acetate/2-ethylhexyl acrylate was carried out by emulsion polymerization method with using ammonium ceric nitrate as initiator and sodium dodecyl sulfate as emulsifier, and the perfect product was obtained. The effects of initiator concentration, monomer concentration, reaction temperature and reaction time on grafting degree, grafting efficiency and reaction velocity were investigated. It was found that the grafting degree approached 248.9%,the grafting efficiency approached 72.1%,and the maximum monomer percent conversion reached 94.3%.
