Abstract

Aim:To observe the antagonism of glutathione to levodopa's cytotoxicity. Methods:The rats were divided into four groups:negative contrast group, positive contrast group, treatment group and normal group. All rats behaviors were tested before and after giving medicine. The activity of GSH-Px,content of MDA,ROS and Mitochondrionase complex Ⅰof nigra were assayed. Results:Glutathione could decrease the nigral oxidative stress and descending of mitochondrial respiration chain complex Ⅰ of PD model rats that levodopa caused. Conclusion:GSH could antagonize partly levodopa's cytotoxicity, and exert some cyto-protection effect on model rats for PD.
