Abstract
Objective To investigate the relationship between serum cystatin C (Cys C) and type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM). Methods The 140 patients diagnosed as T2DM were chosen as case group. The 30 normal individuals were as control group. Urine protein was measured with radioimmunoassay. Cys C was determined by particle-enhanced nephelometry immune assay (PENIA). Results ①As compared with control group, the serum cys C increased markedly in case group[-(0.85±0.62) vs (0.45±0.08)mg/L]. ②The serum cys C was significantly higher in CDN group than in SDM group[(1.45±0.92) vs (0.58±0.17)mg/L]. ③The study showed AUC~(RCC) of cys C was larger than that of Scr, and similar to that of UAER. Conclusions Cys C could be used as sensitive indicator for damage in kidney of type 2 diabetes.
