Clinical observation for 38 cases of chronic ulcerative colitis treated by Jianpizhixie prescription

Objective To observe the therapeutic effects of Jianpizhixie prescription on chronic ulcerative colitis. Methods 74 patients with chronic ulcerative colitis were randomly divided into 2 groups. The 38 patients in treatment group were treated by Jianpizhixie prescription retention enema; the other 36 patients in control group were treated by taking sulfasalazine orally, with a treatment course of 15 days for both groups. The therapeutic effects were observed and compared between the two groups after two treatment courses. Results The total effective rate in treatment group was 97.4%,which was 77.8% in control group. There was a significant difference between two groups(P0.05). After two years the total effective rate in treatment group was 86.8%,which was 55.6% in control group. There was a significant difference between two groups(P0.05).Conclusion Jianpizhixie prescription retention enema is effective in treating chronic ulcerative colitis.
