Abstract

Objective To analyze the laboratory diagnosis results and epidemiological features of hand-foot-mouth disease (HFMD) in Dalian in 2010. Methods Totally 363 samples collected from from HFMD patients were detected Specific nucleic acids of Humanenterovirus (HEV) , Enterovirus 71 (EV71) and Coxasckievirus A group of 16 type (CA16) by real-time fluorescence RT-PCR method. Results Among the 363 samples, the positive rates of EV71, CA16, and other HEV were 71. 35%,0. 28% and 9.92%. The rate of severe cases was 89. 81%. The peak of HFMD was Augest. Males was more than females. The age distribution was mainly in the group 1~3 year old. Conclusions The prevalence of HFMD was serious in Dalian in 2010. EV71 was the major Enterovirus causing HFMD.
