Abstract
The process and the main influential factors for the grafting reaction of maleic anhydride and polyethylene wax by melting method was studied. Using acetone as the resolvent ,maleic anhydride and polymerization intiator, their mass percent both were 12%,were compouded to be a solution to react by dropping at about 165℃. The grafting rate can reach to 15.6%. The IR spectra showed that maleic anhydride had been grafted on the polyethylene wax. The bonding strength of the hot melt adhesive with the grafted polyethylene wax was increased by about 90% than that for ungrafted wax.
