Abstract
Based on the investigation and reports of species butterfly in Hubei Province, 478 butterfly species belonging to 12 families and 198 genera were identified. The results of butterfly distribution study indicated that the number of butterfly species in Mt. South-westen was 82.2% of the total speices of Hubei Province, While species were less in Mt. North-westen and Jianghan plain, The reason may be related to topography, vegetation distribution and the survey insufficiently concerned.
