Study on Prevalence Rate of Hypertension and Relevant Factors Among People in Yangzhou Rural Community

Objective To study the prevalence of hypertension and relevant factors among people in Yangzhou rural community.Methods To find out the prevalence rate of hypertension,awareness and control of hypertension and relevant factors,by the way of stratified sampling study,we investigated 17 308 persons who were 15 years older in rural community of Yangzhou city.Results The prevalence rate of hypertension in rural community of Yangzhou city was 19.29%,while the standard prevalence rate of hypertension is 16.71%.The rates of awareness,treatment,and under control were 42.14%,33.21% and 9.54%.Univariable analysis and multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the risk factors of hypertension were age,BMI,WHR,family history of hypertension,blood sugar,education,marriage status,smoking,drinking and physical exercise.Conclusions Hypertension is caused by multi-gene heredity and various harmful environmental factors.We should establish a system of prevention and control for hypertension to hold back the quick increasing trend of hypertension in rural area.It is of great importance to carry out primary preventions in rural community.
