Abstract
The sedimentary cores were sampled from the sites named Dongwulihu,Sanshan and Yuantouzhu which are along the bank of Taihu Lake(Wuxi region)in this study. The sedimentary rates of the 6 cores were determined by 210Pb method and the concentrations of various phosphorus species in sediments were also analyzed. The results showed that the sedimentary rates of Dongwulihu,Shanshan and Yuantouzhu were 0.32,0.10 and 0.05 cm/a,respectively.The phosphorus fluxes in sedimentary cores of Dongwulihu increased greatly in the last decades as well as its sedimentary rate, and the largest value was up to 0.27 mg/(cm~2/a).It can be regarded that the high concentration of phosphorous in lake sediments made great contribution to the eutrophication.
