Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the comprehensive efficacy of interferon α-2b in children with rotavirus enteritis.METHODS A total of 78 cases of children with rotavirus enteritis treated in the hospital from Jan 2008 to Mar 2011 were chosen as the research objects. They were randomly divided into the control group(conventional treatment) with 39 cases and the observation group(conventional treatment plus with interferon α-2b) with 39 cases. The total effectiveness, the time of disappearance of symptoms and incidence of adverse reactions in two groups were statistically compared.RESULTS The total effective rate of the observation group was 97.44%,higher than that of the control group, which was 87.18%.The time of fever, diarrhea and disappearance for dehydration symptoms were(1.58±0.27)d,(2.55±0.49)d,(1.72±0.45)d,all shorter than those of the control group(2.37±0.30)d,(3.98±0.52)d,(2.95±0.41)d.There were significant differences(P0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions of the two groups were all 5.13%.CONCLUSION There are obvious advantages for α-2b interferon in children with rotavirus enteritis. It can help eliminate the patient's symptoms effectively and safely.
