Abstract
Exogenous salicylic acid(SA)was used to study the effects on seeds germination and seedling growth of white clover under low temperature. The results showed that the germination rate, germination potential, germination index and vigor index of seeds increased first and then decreased along with the increase of SA concentration. The change of plant height, root length, fresh matter weight, dry matter weight and chlorophyll content showed the same trend. The seeds germination and seedling growth was inhibited when the concentration of SA was above 0.1mmol/L.The best treatment was 0.02mmol/L SA for 12hours.
