Abstract
Peru HUANZA Hydropower Station belongs to high water head power plants. The turbines suitable for high water head include two models of Francis and Pelton. The two models are analyzed and compared in the aspects of design and manufacture difficulty,operation stability,flexibility,operation and maintenance,and the like. Meanwhile,model selection standards of domestic and foreign manufacturers are consulted. It is determined that the suitable model of HUANZA Hydropower Station is Pelton turbine according to the specific circumstances of the topographical conditions in power station,pressure pipe length and the like.
