Clinical validation of multi-formula to estimate the weight of fetal by ultrasonic measurement

Abstract

Objective: To investigate accuracy paramenter and derive a higher veracity formula in estimating the weight of fetal by ultrasonic measurement. Methods: Fetal biparietal diameter (BPD), femur length(FL),head circumference(HC),abdominal circumfercene(AC)were measured by ultrasonography with seven equation for a circle within seven days of delivery and analyzed with neonatal birth weight in 287cases. Results: There was significant correlation between fetal abdominal circumference and neonatal birth weight. Conclusion: The ultrasonic measurement of abdominal circumference (AC)is a accurate, simple and valuable parameter in estimation of fetal weight.Multi-parameter formula is not better than abdominal circumference mono-parameter formula in estimating the fetal weight.
