Abstract
Poetry translation is characterized by double properties: the aesthetic and the social qualities. The study of the traditional poetry translation in our country, without attaching much importance to the social qualities of poetry translation, are often confined to the exploration of its aesthetic claims. The paper, with the help of the western translation theories, puts forward the author's several thoughts upon some issues related to the social quality of poetry translation.
