Abstract

Zhang Xuecheng is an outstanding theorist of historiography,who contributed greatly t Chinese ancient theory of historiography,catalogue and local chronicles.There are many interpretations in the academic field but there is less systematic explanations.Analyzing two of his masterpieces,the paper combed Zhang Xuecheng's academic thought from the aspects of the origin,scope and sortation of the Chinese historical document.
