Abstract

Objective:To observe the clinical effect and toxicity of CMNa on the radiotherapy of advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Methods:Total of 44 patients with advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma were divided into two groups randomly:treatment group(n=22) and control group(n=22).The patients in treatment group were intravenous dripped CMNa 800mg/m2 three times weekly during whole treatment period, patients in control group were treated with radiotherapy alone. All patients underwent the same radiotherapy. The doses for nasopharyngeal and neck lymph node were 7200-7400cGy/36-37f/7-8w.Results:The complete regression(CR) rates of nasopharyngeal in treatment group and control group were 90.7% and 72.7% respectively, the CR rates of neck lymph node were 86.4% and 68.2% respectively, there were significant difference between two groups,P0.05.That doses of nasopharyngeal by which the effects had reached CR were 5102cGY and 6133cGY respectively, while neck lymph node were 4702cGY and 5646cGY respectively, there was significant difference between two groups,P0.05.Conclusion:CMNa could enhance radiosensitivity and raise the local control rate of advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma while without obvious toxicity.
