Abstract
Objective: To research the mechanism and the efficacy of acupuncture on head therapy for treatment of insomnia. Methods: Ninety insomnia patients were randomly divided into treatment group and control group. The control group used conventional acupuncture therapy, and the treatment group used the head point-through-point therapy. After treatment,SAS and PSQI were used to evaluate the anxiety status and sleep quality, and the levels of 5-HT,NE and DA were tested and compared after treatment. Results: The total effective rate of treatment group was 91. 11%,which was higher than that of control group( 73. 33%),differences were statistically significant( P ﹤ 0. 05). Before treatment the SAS and PSQI score have statistical significance( P 0. 05); after treatment the scores of SAS and PSQI of treatment group were lower than the control group, differences were statistically significant( P 0. 05). The levels of 5-HT,NE and DA of the treatment group were higher than that of control group, with statistical significance( P 0. 05). Conclusion: The clinical efficacy of head point-through-point therapy for treatment of insomnia is good. It improves sleeping quality and elevates stress level.
