Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of treating post-stroke insomnia by predominantly puncturing the four insomnia acupoints.Method A hundred and five patients with post-stroke insomnia were randomized into group A(a group using the four insomnia acupoints),group B(ordinary acupuncture group),and group C(Western medication group),35 in each group. The clinical efficacy and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI) score in the three groups were observed and compared after 4-week treatment.Result Comparing the total effective rate of group A to that of group B and group C,the differences were statistically insignificant(P0.05);while in comparing the recovery and markedly effective rates, the differences were statistically significant(P 0.05).Compared with group B,group A had a more obvious decrease in PSQI score, but the difference was insignificant(P0.05);difference of PSQI score between group B and group C was also insignificant(P0.05);while difference between group A and group C was statistically significant(P0.05).Conclusion The group using the four insomnia acupoints is a little bit better than ordinary acupuncture group in comparing therapeutic efficacy, and it's better than Western medication group in both therapeutic efficacy and safety.
