Abstract

Objective: To study the effect of intraoperative autologous blood transfusion using ZITI 2000 Autologous Blood Recovery System by animal experience. Methods: Intraoperative autologous blood transfusion was performed in 5 dogs' surgery using ZITI 2000 Autologous Blood Recovery System. The survival condition was observed postoperatively. Routine and biochemical blood tests were examined for the blood samples taken before and after operation. Three dogs' hearts, livers, lungs, kidneys, brains and spleens were taken after 7 days to perform pathologic examination. Results: The 5 dogs recovered successfully and lived well postoperation. Blood tests were normal. Pathologic examination was normal in three dogs. Conclusion: Use of ZITI 2000 Autologous Blood Recovery System for intraoperative autologous blood transfusion is efficacious and safe, and without any adverse blood transfusion reaction.
