Abstract
Objective: To study the effect of intraoperative autologous blood transfusion and use of ZITI 2000 Autologous Blood Recovery System in surgery. Methods:Intraoperative autologous blood transfusion was performed in 128 patients' surgery using ZITI 2000 Autologous Blood Recovery System. Routine and biochemical blood tests were examined for the blood samples taken before and after operation and collected blood during operation. The collected blood cells were examined by light microscope. Results:Mean 1 850 ml blood was collected from each patient during operation and got 615 ml concentrated blood cells after processed by ZITI 2000 Autologous Blood Recovery System in 128 patients. These blood cells were reinfused into the patients during and after operation. Routine, biochemical blood tests, plasmic electrolyte test were normal after operation. All patients recovered very smoothly except three patients who died of ventricularfibrillation and heart failure. There was no relationship between the cause of the death and autologous transfusion. Conclusion:ZITI 2000 Autologous Blood Recovery System is very useful and efficacious for decrease of blood loss during operation and complications of homologous blood transfusion.
