Abstract
Objective To detect the levels of C-reactive protein(CRP) and prealbumin(PA),and to evaluate their clinical significance in the diagnosis of patients with general surgical infection. Methods Serum levels of CRP and PA in 42 infected patients were detected pre-and post-operatively,which were compared with 30 normal controls. Results The difference of the le-(vels of) CRP and PA between the patients and normal controls was significant(t=3.12,7.28;P0.01).The levels of CRP and PA between before and after operation showed marked difference as well(t=2.91,6.37;P0.01). Conclusion The detection of CRP and PA is helpful for diagnosis of patients with general surgical infection.
