Abstract

Objective To discuss the application of nursing intervention for elderly patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus the influence of blood glucose. Methods A randomized,single-blind method was conducted.92 elderly patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus were randomly divided into 2 groups.During the observation period 5 cases fall off, 87 elderly patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus were followed up.The intervention group was treated by conventional hypoglycemic therapy combined with nursing interventions in the medication, diet, exercise, psychology etc(n=44),while the control group was given conventional hypoglycemic therapy alone(n=43).All patients of the two groups were followed up for one year. The level of blood glucose and Glycated hemoglobin were observed and compared between the 2 groups. Results There was no significant difference of preoperative variables such as fasting glucose, postprandial 2h blood glucose and Glycosylated hemoglobin between the 2 groups before the follow-up(P 0.05).After the nursing intervention, the level of blood glucose and Glycosylated hemoglobin in the intervention group was significantly lower than that in the control group, there was statistical sign difference between the two groups(P 0.05),the same to their own before and after. Conclusion Nursing intervention is beneficial to control the blood glucose in elderly patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, which is worth learning.
