The Analysis of Occupational Exposure of Operating Room Staffs in A General Hospital from 2010 to 2011

Objective To investigate the status of occupational exposures of medical staff in Operating Room and discuss the prevention measures for occupational protection.Methods By investigating occupational exposure records of healthcare workers,the occupational exposures and their prevention were evaluated.Results 46 occupational exposures were recorded.14 were happened on the doctors,30 on the nurses,and 2 on nursing school students.HBV patients were the main exposure source.Sharp injury was the main exposure way.Both surgical instruments sorting and surgical suture were the main operations that caused exposure.Conclusions Occupational exposure was frequently happened on Operating Room staffs.The occupational safety education and standard precaution must be emphasized.
