Abstract
[Objective] To evaluate the clinical efficacy and the toxicity of the combination chemotherapy (LFTP regi-men) with pirarubicin (THP), fluorouracil (5-Fu), leucovorin (LV) and cisplatin (DDP) in the treatment of recurrent col-orectal cancer. [Methods] Forty-eight patients with recurrent colorectal cancer were treated with LTFP regimen. THP was given iv gtt on the first day at a dose of 35 mg / m2, DDP was given iv gtt on the days 1-5 at a dose of 20 mg / m2, LV was given iv gtt on days 1-5 at a dose of 200 mg / m2, and 5-Fu was given iv gtt on the days 1-5 at a dose of 500 mg / m2. The cycle of chemotherapy was repeated every 21 days and a course of treatment included at least 2 cycles. [Results] Two patients showed complete response (4.17%), 14 partial response (39.17%), and 4 had progression of disease (8.33%). The total effective rate was 33.34%. The main toxic effects were myelosuppression and gastrointestinal reactions and there was no chemotherapy-re-lated death. [Conclusion] LETP regimen is effective and well tolerated in the treatment of recurrent colorectal cancer.
