Abstract

Analyzed the coupling problems between structure and ideal fluid,a dynamic FEM model for the fluid-solid interaction which considers the mass of adhering water was established by using Galerkin method;considered the earthquake intensity in location of the aqueduct, its seismic response was calculated for the south-to-north water diversion project. The calculated results show that the seismic response of the aqueduct structure increases with the rise of water level, and the fluid-solid interaction influences on the seismic response of the aqueduct structure greatly. The calculated result provides a helpful instruction for the aqueduct construction, management and safety monitoring.
