Abstract
The leakage curves in the indicator diagram of a pumping well reflect the forces born by the sucking rod in static state. A method is put forward by which the static hanging load of the sucker rod in a pumping well is computed by means of leakage curves. The constitutions of the loads in up-leakage curve and down-leakage curve are analyzed; the mechanical equilibrium equations of sucker rod at top dead point and bottom dead point are established; the formulas for computing the weight of sucker rod, the pressure at pump exit, the weight of liquid column and the buoyancy of sucker rod are get by the analyses of the two equations. Why the greater errors will be produced in computing the weight of sucker rod and the pressure at pump exit by traditional method is analyzed. The measurement of preliminary data is simple and the computed results tally with the actual situation when this method is used. The computed parameters are of importance to the condition diagnosis and the technology design of the pumping well.
