Abstract
The principles of gas-liquid two phase fluid mechanics are applied to the calculation of pressure and density of fluids in the tubing of a sucker rod pump well and a method is developed. However, the accuracy of method must be investigated. This paper details a quantitative study of the method. By means of surface dynamometer cards, this paper analyzes the maximum PRL and the minimum PRL when a sucker rod pump well is operating, calculates the mixture mass of oil-gas-water on the traveling valve, compares the result with the mixture mass calculated by sections on the base of the principles of gas-liquid two phase fluid mechanics and gives the percentage error. This paper provides a reliable basis for inspecting the accuracy of the theoretical formulae for calculating the pressure and density distributions of fluids in the tubing of a sucker rod pump well.
