Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical utility of ultrasound-guided core needle biopsy and wire localization biopsy for non-palpable breast lesions. Methods One hundred and two patients with non-palpable breast lesions detected by ultrasound were single-minded randomly divided into two groups,ultrasound-guided core needle biopsy group(A group,55 patients) and ultrasound-guided wire localization group(B group,47 patients). Results In A group,13 patients were proved to be malignant,42 were benign. Biopsy accuracy was 96%. In B group,11 patients were proved to be malignant,36 were benign. Localization accuracy was 98%. Conclusion Either ultrasound-guided core needle biopsy or wire localization biopsy was valuable method for the diagnosis of breast carcinoma. Because of easy to be done and have no scar,ultrasound-guided core needle biopsy is the best method to be choosed
