Study on Ki-67 antigene expression and its clinical significance in prostate cancer

Abstract

OBJECTIVE:To study the expression of nuclear prolifecative antigene(Ki-67)in prostate cancer and its clinical signficane.METHODS:The immunohistochemistry SP method was used to detect the expression of Ki-67 in 64 prostate cancer and 81 normal prostate tissue specimems.RESULTS:There were 40 positive reactions in 64 prostate cancer and 8 positive reactions in 81 normal prostate tissues.Its sensitivity was 63% and specificity 90%.Compared with the two groups,there was statistical significance,χ2=40.05,P0.005.The expression of Ki-67 was different among the clinical stages of prostate cancer.There was statistically significant difference too,χ2=21.12,P0.005.CONCLUSION:Ki-67 might provide new useful information in differentiating diagnosis,clinical stage and prognosis of prostate cancer.
