Abstract

The economy development of a eountry or an area naturally brings about the development of higher education.In view of economy development and talent reserves China's higher education is of no large scale.Higher education,though, according to some researches,helps economic growth not over a short period of time but a long one,enlargement of higher education in China is one of the alternatives for the short-term economic development as people's demand for receiving high- er education is becoming stronger.Besides economic development other factors should be taken into consideration as far as higher education is concerned.China's higher education should be focused on the development of the present colleges and universities while limiting the establishment of new ones,on the development of different levels of colleges and universities, on the people's equal chance to get educated and on the adjustment of relevant policies.
