Investigation on job stressors and mental health status for operating room nurses

Objective To investigate the current status of job stressors,the mental health and the relationship for operating room nurses.Methods Totally 128 operating room nurses from 4 hospitals in Fujian were investigated by using nurse job stressors scale and SCL-90 questionnaire.Result There exist five factors for stressors: job environment and character,personal relationship,the attitude of patients and their relatives,professional skills,status and career development.The top three scores for SCL-90 were obsessive-compulsive,somatization and depression,which were positively correlated with working pressure.Conclusion The work-related stress of operating room nurses is at moderate level.The score of SCL-90 is at higher level for operating room nurses who felt more working pressure,and the status of their mental health are worse than other nurses.
