Abstract
Objective To identify job stressors and mental health among resource nurses.Methods A total of 38 resource nurses and 40 ordinary nurses were investigated in terms of their job stressors and mental health.Results The two group of nurses achieved significantly different scores in such job stressors as patients care,time disposal and workload,management and interpersonal relationship,nursing profession,working environment and equipment(P0.05 for all),as well as in total scores of overall job stressors.There were significant differences in total scores of Symptom Checklist-90,and in scores of subdimentions(except scores in obsessive-compulsive symtoms and interpersonal sensitivity)(P0.05 for all).Conclusion Compared with ordinary nurses,resource nurses experience more serious occupational stress.Hospital managers should take some measures to reduce stress level of resource nurses and to achieve better patient care.
