A Preliminary Clinical Observation of the Treatment of Children with Purpura Nephritis with Chinese Herbal Medicines

Objective To probe into the efficacy of several Chinese medicines in the treatment of children with purpura nephritis.Methods The 44 cases of children with purpura nephritis from January to December in 2011 were randomly divided into treatment group and control group.The treatment group received a comprehensive program of treatment by intravenous Xiangdan injection,oral Tripterygium glycosides tablets as well as traditional Chinese medicine decoction,while the control group was treated with oral prednisone,intravenous injection of heparin sodium as well as oral dipyridamole tablets.Compared was the test result of the urine protein,urine red blood cells before and after the treatment between the two groups of children.Results After the treatment,the total effective rate of children in the treatment group was 86.36%,which was significantly higher than the total efficiency of 63.64% in the control group(P0.05).Conclusion It is more effective to adopt a comprehensive program of treatment to cure purpura nephritis than joint western medicine treatment.
