Abstract

Objective: To evaluate expression of TNF - α (tumor necrosis factor alpha) and Caspase - 3 and association between them in placenta of pregnant women with preeclampsia. Methods: Immunohistochemistry was employed on two groups of preeclampsia (PE) (40 cases in total) and control group (20 cases) to show the location, distribution and quantity of TNF-α and Caspase -3. Results: The quantity of TNF - α and Caspase - 3 in serious group of PE is significantly higher than in control group ( P 0. 01). Besides, the quantity of TNF - α and Caspase - 3 in serious group of PE is shown positive associativity (R=0. 698, P 0. 001). Conclusion: In preeclampsia, placenta may be one of an important source of TNF - α. The morbility of preeclampsia may be associated with the addition of trophocyte apoptosis be induced by TNF - α which be produced by placenta region.
