Expression and clinical significance of integrinα1,β1 and TNFα in placenta of preeclampsia

Objective:To study the expression and clinical significance of integrinα1,β1 and tumor necrosis factor(TNF)α in placentas of preeclampsia.Methods:Immunohistochemistry(SP) was used to determine the distribution and intensity of integrinα1,β1 and TNFα staining in placentas of 50 cases of preeclampsia patients(20 and 30 of mild and severe cases,respectively) and 20 cases of normal gravidas.Results:The expressions of integrinα1,β1 and TNFαin placental trophoblast and decidual cells were significantly decreased in preeclampsia group compared with those in normal group(integrinα1 : 58.00 % vs 80.00%,P 0.05;integrinβ1:56.00% vs 76.50%,P0.05;TNFα:80.00 % vs 32.00 %,P0.05).In preeclampsia group,the expressions of integrinα1,β1,TNFα in mild and severe preeclampsia were : integrinα1 :75.00 % and 46.67 %;Integrinβ1: 75.00 % and 43.33%;TNFα: 65.00% and 90.00%.The expression of integrinα1,β1 was decreased with the progress of preeclampsia.Positive relationship was shown between the expression of integrinα1,β1 and the weight of placenta and neonate.Conclusion:The reduceed expression of integrinα1,β1 and the elevated expreesion of TNFαin placenta leads to insufficient trophoblasts infiltration and might be one of the pathogenesis of preeclampsia.
