Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the effiacy of bronchial arterial embolization for treatment of hemoptysis. Methods: In 57 cases of severe hemoptysis after the feeding artery was defined by DSA,transcatheter bronchial arterial embolization with gelfoam was carried out to stop hemorrhage.18 cases of them were treated with superselective transmicrocatheter embolization. Results:Hemoptysis was completely controlled in 44 cases, the volume of bleeding reduced in 9,and no curative effect in 4.The effective rate was 92.9%.Conclusion:Transcatheter bronchial arterial embolization for treatment of hemoptysis is safe, effective, simple and less invasive.
