The "Verb-object-complement" Structure in Chinese Language of Near-modern Times

Verb-object-complement structure refers to a structure in which a verb is followed by object(s) and complement(s).This structure existed in ancient Chinese language,but was seldom used.With the Chinese language getting closer to spoken language after Tang and Song dynasties,this spoken-language-like structure was used more often,meanwhile,the structure auxiliary word de appeared as the sign of complements,with which,the verb-object-complement structure was different from that in ancient Chinese language.Furthermore,compared to the Chinese language in present-modern times,this kind of structure in the Chinese language of near-modern times was particular,whether it was with the structure auxiliary word de or not.This essay intends to describe and compare it with the Chinese language in present-modern times,according to the clue mentioned above.
