Abstract
AIM:To investigate the clinical efficacy of partial pulpotomy on young permanent incisors with mineral trioxide aggregate and dycal as pulp-capping.METHODS: 108 young permanent incisors from 106 patients were randomly divided into two groups and treated with MTA and Dycal respectively.Altogether teeth were filled with a layer of zinc oxide cement and zinc phosphate cement.Then the cavities were covered with light-cured composite.The teeth were evaluated clinically and radiographically for a period of two years.RESULTS: The clinical success rate in the group of MTA and Dycal were 92.00% and 79.31% respectively with statistical difference fo P0.05.CONCLUSION: MTA is an effective pulp capping agent in the partial pulpotomy for young permanent teeth with complicated crown fracture.
