Abstract
The data abstained from 25 selected poins of Henan Province showed that the maternal mortality in 2008 was 22.17 per 100000,which decreased by 59.20% compared with the result in 2000.The maternal mortality in urban was 13.32 per 100000,which decreased by 57.77% compared with the result in 2000,the maternal mortality in rural area was 24.30 per 100000,which decreased by 62.53% compared with the result in 2000.The causes of maternal mortality were as the following: amniotic fluid embolism, obstetric hemorrhage, pregnancy complicated by heart disease and so on.Tip: When paying attention to the problem of maternal mortality in rural areas,we can not ignore the condition in cities. The reasons for maternal mortality in city should studied deeply,to develop appropriate interventions to reduce mortality.
