An Analysis of Surveillance on pregnant and lying-in women Death in Henan Province 2002

The data obstained from 19 selected poins of Henan Province Showed that the maternal mortality in 2002 was 57.76 per 100000, Which decreased by-6.27% Compared with the result in 2000. The maternal mortality in urban was 22.74 per 100000, which decreased by 21.88% compared with the result in 2000, the maternal mortality in rural area was 73.06 per 100000. In order of the cause of pergnant and lying-in women death were as follows: hemorrhage, Ammionic fluid embolism, pregnancy induced hypertension and etc. Conclusion:The Maternal mortality in Henan 2002 appears a declined on urban, in rural area keeps rnstable.
