Abstract
Objective:To investigate the correlation between the features of fibrobronchoscopy and the histology type in elderly patients with lung cancer. Methods:The fibrobronchoscopic data of 680 aged patients with lung cancer were analyzed retrospectively. Results:In 680 patients with lung carcinoma, the central bronchogenic carcinoma has 486 cases (71.5%) and the peripheral has 194 cases (28.5%).The features under Bronchoscope were followed as:155 cases of proliferation in the trachea or bronchus (22.8%),136 cases of infiltration on the trachea's or bronchus's wall (20.0%),14 cases of oppression out of the trachea or bronchus (2.1%),238 cases of mixed pattern (35.0%) and 137 cases of the normal (20.1%).Base on the histology, the most common histology was the squamous cell carcinoma and then small cell carcinoma. The proportion the adenocarcinoma, atypical carcinoma and the other type. The features under the bronchoscope and the age could be related with the histology type, with statistical significance (P0.05).Conclusion:In the aged patients with lung cancer, the most common was the central bronchogenic carcinoma in anatomic site, the features of bronchoscope were proliferation and mixed type, the histology type were squamous cell carcinoma and small cell carcinoma.Combining with age,the fibrobronchoscope examine has the important diadynamic value in the aged patients with lung cancer.
