Clinical characterization analysis of 921 cases lung cancer diagnosed by bronchoscope

Abstract

[Objective] To analyse the clinical characteristics of 921 cases lung cancer diagnosed by bronchoscope. [Methods] Normal bronchoscope examination was used to confirm the mass localization by direct view and the diagnosis of pathological types by blindness biopsy, and cytological examination by brush test. [Results] The incidence of lung cancer were significantly increased in patients of age over 40 years old. The peak level of incidence at the age from 50 to 69, and then decreased at age over 70. In the 921 cases, the proportion of squamous cell carcinoma was 38.5%, adenocarcinoma and poor differentiation carcinoma were 27.4% and 21.9% respectively. Small cell lung cancer was 8.7% and others were 3.5%. The predominant pathological type of lung cancer in this investigation was squamous cell carcinoma in male, and adenocarcinoma in female. [Conclusion] The higher incidence of lung cancer at age from 50 to 69, and the predominant types of pathology was squamous cell carcinoma, adenocarcinoma, poor differentiation carcinoma and small cell lung cancer in turn. Some difference of distribution in pathological type existed in sex. The bronchoscope examination and improvement the biopsy technique should be emphasized, which may be the effective clinical approach for diagnosis of lung cancer, and further provide a reliable evidence for its clinical therapy.
