On the Function Position of High School Education in China

Correct function position is the prerequisite for the planning and building of high schools.Popularizing high school education means it is a kind of education that can be accepted by all the school-age population.It is the popularized and elementary education,which is essentially different from the elite high school education in nature and function.High school education with pure college entrance or employment as the center is not suitable for the requirement of current social development.High school education should give more consideration to the fostering of students' basic qualities and highlight the functions of elementary education position and civic education.
