Abstract

Objective:To probe the T1WI high signal mechanism of neonatal hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy(HIE)using magnetic susceptibility weighted imaging(SWI).Methods:49 cases according with the diagnostic standard of HIE were performed MRI examination. All cases carried on transection T1WI,T2WI,DWI and SWI.To observe the appearing rate of hemorrhage focus on SWI and compare with routine MR images and behavior on SWI of HIE white matter focus. Results:The deep white matter pathological change caused by HIE was a high signal on T1WI.The pieces of T1WI high signal area lied in the cortical and subcortical white matter were 46 focus,39 focuses along lateral ventricle wall and lateral ventricle triangular,14 T1W high signal focuses in basal ganglia region and thalamus,above-mentioned focuses were the medium signal on SWI,had no obvious difference with the surrounding tissue signal. Conclusion:SWI prompts that hemorrhage is not main reason to cause the white matter T1WI high signal of HIE,the formation of T1W high signal is related with ischemia-reperfusion damage.
