Fifth Report of Field Identification and Appearance Quality Evaluation on New Rice Varieties in Jilin

The 28 rice varieties in Jilin were planted Gongzhuling in order to evaluate the quality of rice varieties.The results showed that 22 rice varieties performed well in growth and development and the varieties yielding over 600 kg/667 m2 are Jijing 803,Pingjing 7,and Jijing 107;varieties yielding close to 600 kg/667 m2 are Pingjing 8,Jijing 504 and Jiudao 62.The yield of many mediate-early varieties reached 500-550 kg/667 m2.Among quality traits,brown rice rates of all entries were up to the national first class of fine quality rice,ratio of grain length to width reached first or third class.Seventeen varieties were up to the national first class in head rice rate,taking up 77.3%.Twenty varieties were up to the national first or second class in chalky grain rate and chalkiness degree,taking up 90.1%.
