Abstract

Objective To study the clinical feature and pathology of the patients with asymptomatic proteinuria. Methods Renal biopsy was performed on 96 patients who were found proteinuria on routine examination. Results Among the 96 patients,19 (19.8) had isolated proteinuria, and 77 (80.2%) also simultaneously associated with proteinuria and hematuria;43 (44.8%)were associated with hypertension. Pathologically,55 cases had mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis accounted for 57.3%;27 cases IgA nephropathy for 28.1%;3 cases focal segmental glomerulosclerosis for 3.1%;4 cases membranous nephropathy for 4.2%;crescentic glomerulonephritis for 7 (7.3%).Conclusion Because pathology of some patients with asympto-matic proteinuria is serious, routine urine analysis in population is helpful for screening early patients with renal disease,so as to timely treat and improve their prognosis.
