Abstract

Objective To study the renal clinicopathological and prognostic analysis of the patients with asymptomatic urinary abnormalities,so that more aggressive intervention therapy to the severe pathological type cases can be made to postpone the progression of kidney disease. Methods A retrospective investigation was made in the 60 patients with asymptomatic urinary abnormalities in a routine urinary examination. All the patients underwent a renal biopsy for the pathological classifications. Results Clinically, proteinuria with hematuria was the most common manifestation pattern 63.3%(38/60),hematuria for 11.7%(7/60) and proteinuria for 25%(15/60).The renal insufficiency was 13.3%(8/60).IgA nephropathy accounted for 48.3%,non-IgA mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis for 13.3%,glomerular minor lesion for 11.7%,membranous nephropathy for 6.7%,focal glomerulonephritis for 6.7%,focal segmental glomerulosclerosis for 5%,minimal change glomerulopathy for 3.3%,membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis for 1.7%,lupus nephritis for 3.3%.After an follow-up of 18.8±11.3(14-24) months,2 of the patients experienced a course of progressive deterioration of renal function. Conclusion The patients with asymptomatic urinary abnormalities, without any clinical symptoms, are easy to be ignored and delayed in the treatment.Renal biopsy is indicated in most of the patients for a pathological investigation of the underlining disease.Early treatment and long term follow-up is important for those patients who follow a course of chronic progressive renal disease.
