Abstract

Objective To measure hepatic volume of the normal liver and cirrhotic liver using 64-slice spiral CT,and to evaluate the feasibility of the quantitative judgment of classification of liver cirrhosis. Methods A total of 42 patients with cirrhotic liver were enrolled in this study. All patients were examined by 64-slice spiral CT to measure hepatic volume. Results The liver volume of liver cirrhosis and control subjects were (459±100)cm3/m2 and (721±101)cm3/m2,respectively. The liver cirrhosis of Child-Pugh A group,Child-Pugh B group and Child-Pugh C group were(621±92),(482±136),(410±112)cm3/m2 ,respectively. There were significant difference between control subjects and liver cirrhosis in hepatic volume. There was significant difference in hepatic volume according to the severity of liver cirrhosis. Conclusion Hepatic volume measured with 64-slice spiral CT were significantly altered in cirrhosis and correlated with the severity of liver cirrhosis.
